How to set default TTL for DNS records Print

  • 0

Introduction

The TTL is the Time To Live value in seconds for DNS records. Setting the default higher or lower can make DNS refresh faster or slower depending on if cPanel manages the nameservers.

Note: These settings will only take effect when the cPanel server is asked for DNS records for any domain.

Procedure

  • Login to WHM
  • Navigate to Basic Webhost Manager Setup
  • Click Basic Config
  • Scroll down to the text "This value defines the caching time for host name lookups for domains hosted on this server. " or enter TTL in the "Find" search bar
  • Change the toggle to the custom item and set a value for the TTL settings

Please see the documentation pages for more details on these settings.
